The Inaugural event took place at the Sandton Convention Centre last night and i must say in terms of fashion the event went very much well. The red carpet at this event brought ball gowns, jumpsuits, short dresses, tailored suits, vintage wear and may more. I guess everyone went with what they were comfortable in for the night.

Africa Fashion International Week

The #MBFWJ Stands as the best fashion week in Africa

Image may contain: 1 person, text

The #MBFWJ17 took place this past weekend and boy did the who’s who in the Fashion industry come out to play, looking all dapper and well fashionable.

Fashion week is made ” in my view mostly by the street fashion” i mean what would be of the whole week if the street fashion died. Street is where we get mingle and get new ideas for our own style goals.

Street Fashion looks are all about the Cute, Crazy, Cool and classy looks.

It’s all about colour, the clothes, makeup and a lot of your personality.

One Tone Outfits

#Accessories

One tone/coloured outfits are my best and i believe have a very powerful look. One would say that have one coloured/toned outfit makes thing much easy, well right and wrong, well you see when you basically working with one color you don’t really have much to work with. Accessories must absolutely become your friends as they will help you turn mixed clothes into an amazing outfit.

Being African allows me to use big and bold accessories because we have them and the basically who we are they are part of our culture.

The Fashion Price

#FahionIsNotExpensive

Fashion or should i say styling doesn’t have to be expensive, actually it is not expensive fashion and styling is all about you find something that is you and you feel that you can pull it off very well.

IMG_5708.JPG

If something is beautiful and you love it you should have it. If you want to stay on top of the fashion game then you will shop everywhere and it won’t matter what the price tag on the garment is.

The coats you see here were just R120 each from a street market in one of my home town.

How kids inspire

#ColourFahion

IMG_8209

In a lot of ways i believe that kids inspire us a lot in fashion generally because they so carefree. Kids make fashion a fun place, kids always jump around and become super happy once they wear something that they love they discover a cute and nice glow. A glow is something we all need because it brings confidence within.

Learn from kids, they can teach you a lot

The xhosa traditional attire is mostly Black and white with baby blue beads but occasionally you will find some wearing red, orange and green but all have black involved. black is like a signature color it is a very important color.

Styling of these traditional attires is super different and differs from person to person. I must say Xhosa people sure know how to style themselves and sure know how to moderns a they old looks making them look new and fresh.

Prints

#PrintsAreLife

bags

Prints have taken over past 2 years, i mean taken over everything but really this is a beautiful trend which has been loved and celebrated by a lot of people. When i talk about prints i mean african prints not that i hate graphical prints but african prints are amazing and super fashionable.

I think when the whole trend started we mostly thought that the trend was going to be dominated by ladies, but that is not the case intact many guys pull off this perfectly. You will find that some guys go wild with it but some keep it clean and simple. With prints you can dress up or down, I mostly like it when it’s toned down with a solid colour which is part of the print all ready.
